High Definition Metal Art

What are Metal Prints?

Metal prints are an exciting new high definition display option that transforms your photos into vibrant works of art. Our aluminum photo panels have an extremely durable (100 Year Archival Life} – flame, scratch, stain, UV resistant and waterproof surface that can be cleaned easily with a soft damp cloth. They are an excellent choice for commercial, fine art and home décor applications.

Are all Metal Prints alike, and why do you call yours High Definition Metal Art?

All metal prints are definitely NOT alike.

Firstly, there are a couple of ways to make metal prints. Either an inferior quality "direct print" onto an aluminum sheet, or a much higher quality "dye sublimation" process. We use the dye-sublimation process. Secondly, the brand of aluminum is VERY important. We use the original and the best aluminum coated sheets by Chromaluxe™ This is the key to us providing the highest quality metal prints.

Others we tested did not have the HD clarity of Chromaluxe metal prints. Chromaluxe metal prints have been shown to resist fading for 65+ years. The other brands made in China will fade after a couple of years and they don't have the durability of Chromaluxe Metal Prints. Beware of buying cheap metal prints, they are cheap for a reason!!

Is my metal print durable and easy to clean?

YES! Your metal print has an extremely durable (100 Year Archival Life) – flame, scratch, stain, UV resistant and waterproof surface that can be cleaned easily with a microfiber or soft cotton cloth. If needed, use a damp cloth and then wipe dry.

Can I hang my aluminum metal prints outdoors?

YES – Your metal print has a moisture and UV resistant surface that looks great outdoors. However, it’s best if they are hung in shaded areas. Direct sunlight with longer exposure to UV rays will eventually cause the colors to fade slightly.

Glicee Prints

Giclee (or giclée) printing is a popular method among artists and galleries to produce something that looks just like an expensive piece of fine art, but doesn’t cost anything near as much to produce. With reproduction prints becoming more and more popular, giclee enables artists to reach a wider audience who may not be able to afford the real thing.

Giclee prints are printed on demand, so avoid the expense of mass-production using Litho, also giving the artist the option of experimenting with different papers and finishes. For exquisite, high-quality reproductions, giclee really is the best way to go.

What is a giclee?

The name derives from the French word for ‘nozzle’ and is pronounced ‘Zhee-Clay’. Giclee is the first and only fine art print to be made with an ink jet printer. The beauty of a giclee print is that each reproduction is as true to the original as possible, and a lot of that has to do with the 12 colors of the printer. Printers with 12 colors are better suited to accurately recreating the original look of the image.

How long will they last?

Independent testing by Wilhelm Imaging Research Inc. (a world-leader in image-longevity testing) has established that these “Archival Prints”/”Giclee Prints” will last around 200 years before any noticeable shift in color integrity occurs.

Do giclee prints need glass?

In the case of a giclee on paper, glass should be used, but there is no need to put canvas prints behind glass. UV protective non-glare glass such as Museum Glass is the best option for paper prints. Giclees contain UV treatments in the archival inks as well as the varnish or clear coat.

Do giclee prints have texture?

A giclee print is an excellent reproduction of the original painting, butdo not have the raised texturethat is characteristic of most of my original paintings.

What is a hand embellished giclee print?

A hand embellished giclee is a print on which an artist has applied their unique touch with their particular art medium or mediums. An artist paints or draws in areas of choice to adds texture or metallic paints, making a giclee look even more like an original than it already does.

What is a Limited Edition Print?

A Limited Edition Print is one which is signed and numbered. That print, in that format, can only be produced in those quantities stated in the edition, both as written on the print, and also as documented by the artist. An edition of 40, means that with an allowance of up to 10% of the edition as Artist's Proofs, only 40 prints of that printing will be produced. This makes Limited Edition Prints highly Collectible, and more expensive than an Open Edition, which is not limited.

NIL

What is NIL?

Short for Name, Image, and Likeness, an “NIL” refers to the way college athletes can receive compensation. “Using” an athlete’s NIL would involve a brand leveraging their name, image, and/or likeness through marketing and/or promotional endeavors.

What does NIL mean and where did it come from?

In the simplest of terms, Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) is a term that describes the means through which college athletes are allowed to receive financial compensation. NIL refers to the use of an athlete’s name, image, and likeness through marketing and promotional endeavors. This can include autograph signings, product endorsements, social media posts, and more.

At the same time, it’s important to understand what NIL does not mean. NCAA rules still prevent schools from paying players directly. This means that college coaches cannot offer money as an incentive for high school athletes to come play at their school, nor can athletes receive compensation directly from their university based upon their athletic achievements. Because the NCAA still intends to maintain its amateur sports status, paying athletes for their play on the field isn’t possible. However, NIL is the workaround for athletes to get paid without technically being considered professional athletes who make a living playing their sport.

Who does NIL apply to?

At first glance, NIL laws seem like something that would only apply to the top 1% of NCAA athletes—think the best college football quarterbacks, projected lottery picks, and other superstars. But in reality, that may not be the case.
